Chopper was a three-year-old Rottweiler/Shepherd mix who was abandoned in a home with his “sister.” They had no food or water and, in desperation, had crawled out a window and were drinking water out of the gutter when our Humane Investigations Officer (Cleveland’s own “Animal Cops) rescued the dogs and brought them to the APL. Both of the dogs were very skinny and infested with fleas. Chopper had heartworm and quickly went to a loving APL Foster Care Volunteer family to heal and to gain weight. Chopper came back to the APL healthy and 16 pounds heavier. He now is the much-loved “big brother” to three little girls who adore him!
