Piper is one lucky kitten! Our Humane Investigations Department (Cleveland’s own “Animal Cops”) received a call from a woman saying she thought a cat had fallen into her neighbor’s overflow drainpipe. Officer Rob looked and looked and did not see anything. As he was leaving, he heard the faintest of cries. Officer Rob then saw movement about 5 feet down in the pipe. It was starting to rain, and the kitten needed to be rescued and soon. Officer Rob used cooking oil, which he poured down the drain, allowing him to get his catch pole around the little kitten and free her. Piper was brought back to the APL, cleaned up, received medical treatment, and was soon on our adoption floor where she quickly found her forever family!
