Adoption fees for adult dogs will be reduced in celebration of Adopt-a- Shelter-Dog Month

The weather is getting colder and the anticipation of winter is close at hand. It’s the perfect time to consider bringing a new dog into your life: who better to keep your feet warm during the cold nights ahead?

In honor of Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month, the Cleveland APL is offering reduced adoption fees and a free grooming from participating groomers around Cleveland. This Saturday, October 23rd only, the adoption fee for select puppies (under 5 months) will be reduced to $100 and for select adult dogs (5 months and older) will be reduced to only $55.00. Each dog adoption will also include a free 3.5lb. bag of food, a dog collar, a certificate for a free dog grooming at participating groomers around Cleveland (see below for grooming locations), and a free engraved, personalized identification tag. (Regular adoption fees are $150 for puppies (under 5 months) and $85 for adult dogs (5 months and older).

“Year-round we try to encourage people who are thinking about bringing a new dog into their home to adopt from a shelter,” says Sharon Harvey, Executive Director of the Cleveland APL, “but now, during Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month, we’re pulling out the stops to get people to “opt to adopt” and take home a friend that will give you a lifetime of love and devotion!”

All dogs are spayed-neutered, tested for heartworm, have received age appropriate vaccinations and treatments for worms and fleas, and come with a collar and a personalized engraved identification tag, helpful species-specific animal care information, and free initial veterinary exam.
