Cats’ Eye View

March 26, 2010

Hi all!  It’s the Ozzman, and I’m still on a March Madness kick!  My bracket is all over the place but I did pick a HUGE upset, St. Marys…and I can’t wait to watch them this weekend and see what happens!

Not only am I still in the March Madness spirit but so is the APL!  Last Saturday, during our “Sweet Sixteen” adoption extravaganza, 36 of our friends went home - 24 of them were cats like us.  But our human friends were hoping for more, so we’re doing it again.  See, we have LOTS of kittens coming in now, so not only do we need to find great homes for the cats that are already at the APL, but we also need to make room for the ones who need to come in.

So, since it’s Elite Eight weekend, this Saturday only (March 27), the first “Elite Eight” adult cats (5 months and older) that get adopted will go home for only $5.  All adult cats adopted after the “Elite Eight” will be available for only $20.  Kittens under 5 months will be available for only $50 all day. (Those adoption fees are a steal for all the love and affection you’ll receive in return!!)  Regular adoption fees are $95 for kittens, $45 for adult cats, and $30 for senior cats.  BUT please don’t forget there are also LOTS of great dogs for adoption for fees of $150 for puppies, $85 for adult dogs, and $55 for senior dogs.

I also wanted to remind you about our 5th Annual Pledge for Pets Radiothon!  Thanks to our friends, Wilde and Fee of Q104, our Pledge for Pets Radiothon will take place Friday, April 30, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, Help Our Friends2010!  During those two days, the APL and Q104 will be on-air raising money for the animals so that the special people here who rescue, rehabilitate, and care for them can keep doing it.  Over the past four years, the Pledge for Pets Radiothon has raised more than a half-million dollars for the Cleveland Animal Protective League, and 339 animals found new homes during those two days!

The APL created this fun program called Doggy Dollars and Kitty Kash! As part of the Cleveland APL's annual Pledge for Pets Radiothon, the Doggy Dollars Kitty Kash collection launch serves as a sort of Radiothon kick-off' and opportunity for caring individuals like yourself, to have fun soliciting donations for the thousands of animals the APL helps every year.

Anyone can collect Doggy Dollars and Kitty Kash!  There are a variety of roles you can play as a participant.  You can collect as an Individual or on behalf of your workplace, department, or organization (Q Cash Captain), as a Q Cash Kid, or even as a Q Cash School! The idea is to collect as much change and donations from your friends, family, and fellow workers as you can! I did say ANYONE didn’t I?  Click here for more information!

Don’t forget to check back next week!

Until then…

Love and purrs,
Kobe and Ozzy
