Every year the Cleveland APL takes in thousands of sick, injured, and special-needs animals that require a little extra help and medical care.
Some are turned in by their owners or by caring individuals who found them as strays. Others are abused, abandoned, or neglected animals that are rescued by our Humane Investigation officers.
Your gift will help to provide veterinary care for wonderful animals that are looking for a chance, not only to survive, but also to heal and be given a chance to start a new, healthy life with a “forever” family full of love.
Make a donation today and know that you have enabled us to save the lives of animals that come to us ill, abused, injured or “less than perfect.” On behalf of the 2nd Chance animals, thank you for your kindness. |

We believe that all animals deserve the medical care they need and loving attention while they recover. As a nonprofit organization on a limited budget, we are frequently challenged by the cost of medical care for the animals which arrive at our doorstep.
If you believe that every animal deserves the same care and attention that you would give your own pet, contribute to our SECOND CHANCE Program HERE and help extraordinary animals overcome extraordinary circumstances.

| Chelsea, a super-sweet, four-year-old Australian Shepherd mix, was abandoned by her owners and left with an injured eye that needed to be removed. The APL was able to do that surgery and she's now doing great and ready to find her forever family! Chelsea knows basic commands and loves attention--she'll even give paw for a treat!
Chelsea has been adopted by a loving family and enjoys life in her new home! |

Zeus came in to the Cleveland Animal Protective League through our Humane Investigations Department because his owners were not properly caring for a very severe injury the puppy had suffered when he fell out of a second story window and broke his right elbow. Zeus underwent surgery and a pin and screw were inserted to stabilize the fracture. On October 10, 2008, Zeus was adopted and happily left the APL with his new "dad." |

Georgia was left to live under the porch of her house when her owners moved away and left her behind. Georgia had severe demodectic mange--a condition that occurs when an animal's immune system becomes compromised and normal skin mites become overactive. After 3 months of treatment in the home of an APL Foster Care Volunteer, Georgia came back into the APL and was quickly adopted! |

Diamond came to the Cleveland APL through our Humane Investigations Department. Diamond’s medical tests at the APL revealed that she had heartworm, which is treatable but costly, as well as severe ear infections. She was received her heartworm treatment at the APL. Her foster family fell in love with her and ultimately adopted her!
