  CLEVELAND APL SERVICES AND INTAKE PROGRAMS
 
The Cleveland APL offers a variety of animal services and life-saving programs. In addition to animal adoptions, we also provide an intake/surrender program for those who must give up or turn in an animal, an owner-requested euthanasia service and pet cremation.
Our Intake/Surrender Area is located at the second driveway heading toward the railroad underpass - at the back of building.
The Intake/Surrender Entrance - Please ring buzzer at entry door for admission to the Intake Lobby.
Intake/Surrender Lobby - Our professional staff will assist you in the order of your appointment.

Intake and Animal Surrender Services

To provide you and your pet with the best service, we recommend you make an appointment for admission. To schedule an appointment, call 216-771-8825. An appointment enables us to gather important information about your pet’s history and will decrease your wait when you arrive.  If you must relinquish an animal immediately today, call 216-771-8825 to let us know you are on your way.

There is a $30.00 Surrender Fee to bring an animal to the APL; $60 for a litter of puppies or kittens. If you cannot pay the fee, please speak to an Intake Associate. Because we are the humane society for Cuyahoga County, fees are double for out-of-county residents (single animal - $60; litters - $120).
Pet Cremation Services
We offer private cremation of your departed pet, thereby allowing you to take time to select a final disposition for your pet's remains. Cremains may be buried, stored in a columbarium at a pet cemetery, scattered in a favorite spot, or kept at home in a decorative urn.

Your pet's cremains are returned in 2 business days (on Tuesdays and Fridays) in a decorative tin.  You may also have your pet's cremains returned in a cedar box or urn for an additional fee plus applicable taxes.  Please review our fee schedules below and please contact us if you have any questions.
